See the Cities of India by Luxury Train – the Golden Chariot

Ever wanted to see Goa? Like the idea of seeing Mysore and Bangalore, too? As a passenger on one of the three foremost luxury train journeys in India you could see many of the prominent cites in the south of the country. Take a ride on the Golden Chariot train for eleven-day roving Indian train holidays with private guided sightseeing.

The Maharaja’s Train
The Golden Chariot is one of India’s famed luxury trains that were built for royal use and have since been adapted for tourists. Because it was built as transport for the maharajas, the interior of the Golden Chariot is more like a palace than a train. India has a proud tradition of railway travel and this is one of the jewels in the Raj crown available for you to enjoy.

You’ll spend the first night of your eleven day itinerary in the Taj West end hotel. Behind its palm-shaded, elegant white archways and pillars, lies an airy, stylish and understated décor. Above all, it’s comfortable here, so you can prepare yourself to explore the first of the cities on the tour: Bangalore.

In Bangalore you’ll be taken to the gardens of Lal Bagh, where you’ll find a glasshouse as pretty as the botany it shelters, especially when it is lit at night. A visit to St Mark’s Cathedral is on the schedule, and also the Vidhana Soudha, an impressively grandiose piece of architecture that is home for the regional legislative assembly.

After a full day in Bangalore, you will be ready for your first meal on the Golden Chariot and then to retire to your cabin. Each cabin is air conditioned, has an LCD television and a private washroom. The decor is plush and regal with an old world feel, but with modern comforts and facilities it is an ideal mobile hotel for a train holiday in India. The carriages include a lounge bar, a restaurant car, a fully equipped gym and even an internet area.

Visit Indian Palaces by Train
You’ll awake refreshed the next day in Mysore, the ‘city of palaces’. This is a city with a selection of extravagant architecture. In the Maharaja’s Palace, you might even try to spot the design and furnishings that inspired the interior of the Golden Chariot’s lounge bar. An excursion of just twenty kilometers brings you to the temple of Srirangapatna in the district of Madya, to see the site of pilgrimage and its tapering towers.

Overnight, the train journeys to India’s Nagarhole National Park where you can see elephants, the mighty horned oxen called guar, many varieties of deer and macaques. There is also a healthy population of tigers, leopards and wild dogs here, if you know where to look.

In day six, the train heads north to Belur, where you can see an eighteen metre tall standing statue of Gomateshwara, as well as several of the carved temples this green region is famous for. Next are the monuments of Hampi, one of about thirty World Heritage Sites in India. The luxury train takes its name after the stone chariot here among the ruins and pillars of this historical gem.

The Beaches of Goa
By this point, your train holiday in India will have taken you the length of the Karnataka state; after visits to Badami and Aihole, the train journeys to India’s Maharashtra province, heading due west towards the coast. You will awaken in Vasco station in Goa ready to see the golden Goan beaches and encounter the local Portuguese influences.

On the tenth day, you can enjoy the changes in scenery between the coast and the southern regions of mountains, fertile jungles and broad lagoons as the Golden Chariot completes its loop, returning to Bangalore.
If you like the idea of seeing the country this way, there is another luxury train, India’s Palace on Wheels, which makes a similar tour in the very North of India, embarking from Delhi.

Cibodas Botanical Garden, Indonesia

by : Firman
Have you ever travel to place called lost paradise, here is some picture of Cibodas Botanical Garden in Indonesia.
look at this waterfall, and also this picture below beautiful isn't it?

Punta Cancun, Cancun

by: Rosa Carvajal
Punta Cancun is aptly translated to Cancun Tip, because this area is right on the tip of Cancun’s 7-shaped coast line. This is definitely one of the most popular areas of the Hotel Zone in Cancun. This particular place is the main area for nightclubs, bars, and an array of restaurants. It is really at night when this place really comes to life. At nightfall, neon lights begin to illuminate gorgeously, and the loud and flowing music fills the entire atmosphere. You really feel alive and with it.

As it is common in Cancun, one can find thatched roofs and plastic chairs ready for tourists to enjoy. After a night out in the town, I remember comfortably laying down on one of these plastic beach chairs as I let my silky skin soak in the fresh and soothing morning breeze. Aaaaghhh this is life! In this particular area there’s a small dock where one can walk on and it serves as a bridge into the waters. In fact, you can even take out fishing gear and just hang out as you wait for the catch of the day. Within a few feet of walking distance one will encounter a rocky area that leads to a red and white lighthouse. This lighthouse is beautifully constructed and adds to the Caribbean paradise scenery.

Coincidentally, one of the neighboring lodging areas is called Punta Cancun. Instead of your typical hotels, what you have here is a group of condominiums with all the necessary amenities. It is almost like a home away from home.

The Exotic Galapagos Islands

by: Eduardo Landazuri
The Galapagos Islands were named after the giant Galapagos tortoises. The archipelago emerged six million years ago as a result of volcanic activity in the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. These enchanted place on earth is composed of 19 islands and more than 40 islets, with white sand beaches, dark and solid rocks, unique landscapes, deep crystal clear waters, you can enjoy yourself swimming with playful sea lions around you, watching friendly sharks cruise six feet under you. All these wonderful nature makes you feel as if you are part of it all.

It has a world record of especial titles and management categories: the islands are Ecuador's first National Park; UNESCO World natural heritage Site, both the terrestrial Park and the Reserve, (the second largest and possibly the most unique in the world); Biosphere Reserve and a Whale Sanctuary.

GALAPAGOS ISLANDS LOCATION
This alluring complex ecosystem is located 1,000 kilometers (600 miles) off the coast of Ecuador, northwest of South America in the Pacific Ocean.

WILDLIFE OBSERVATION
Some of the most unusual and fascinating species in the world, both terrestrial and marine, are found in the Galapagos islands. Here most of the surface (96%) is a National Park, surrounded by a protected Marine Reserve, both UNESCO World Heritages Sites.

On Santa Cruz island, the Giant tortoises can be seen at the Charles Darwin Research Station (including famous Lonesome George, the only remaining tortoise from "Pinta" island) and also in the wild, in the highlands of this Galapagos island. There are 15 sub-species of giant tortoises. Some prefer the upland zones of the large islands because of humidity, grassy pastures and small ponds to drink and stagger about. Others prefer islands with low elevations, dry terrain, and with lots of prickly vegetation like cactus. The largest populations are found in Alcedo Volcano on Isabela Island, and in the highlands of Santa Cruz Island.

BIRD WATCHING
A total of 140 species of birds have been registered in Galapagos. About half of the resident birds cannot be seen , anywhere else in the world. You can observe shore and lagoon birds such as ducks, stilts, herons, warblers, pelicans and frigates all easily approachable, just like all the Galapagos animals.
Eight species of Darwin's Finches are found on Santa Cruz island; most of which can be observed all around the island. Charles Darwin's concepts were founded by modern evolutionists by studying the different beaks of these finches.

SNORKELING AND DIVING
The Galapagos islands are considered a world premier destination for scuba diving and snorkeling. The protected waters of its Marine Reserve have been well preserved, nearly untouched by external sources. Here the crossroads of marine currents has resulted in a unique marine ecosystem.

GALAPAGOS WEATHER
Although the islands are tropical, there are two markedly different seasons : the warm, humid and sunny season from December to May and the dry, windy and not-so-sunny season from June to November.
Transitional months are January, April and May. The Warm Season offers hardly any wind (so the sea is usually very calm) and the visibility tends to be better. In the Dry Season there is more wind, sometimes the sea tends to be choppy and the visibility lower.

THE MEANING OF GALAPAGOS
Amongst the first groups that came to Galapagos, we had many of Spanish origin. In traditional Castilian language, the word "Galapago" was used to describe the frontal piece of the riding saddle, and upon seeing the many tortoises the islands had in earlier years, but more important, the shape of their carapace (shell), they named this archipelago "Islands of the Galapagos". And this is the official story of the name of these islands
Visit the most complete Site ever made about the Galapagos Islands and Ecuador. You will find outstanding and solid information regarding these Enchanted Islands and the country to which they belong (Ecuador).

Plane Crash Survival Tips

by: Mark Dacanay

Travelling through what is literally a heavy piece of metal flying through the air could be daunting. It is reasonable to be worried about plane crash survival but statistics actually show that you are more likely be involved in a car accident rather in a plane crash in your whole life.

According to statistics, about 2.5 billion passengers board an airplane each year and the chances of plane accidents are close to zero.

Of course, there are plane crash accidents being reported now and then, but you should remember that a plane crash is more likely to be in the headlines than a car crash because it is rare and the damage it causes because of its size is huge.

Although it is relatively safe, a slim chance of an accident happening is still possible. One should still be careful and take precautions in riding planes.

But keep your heads up, studies also show that more than 90% of all plane crash are survivable. So the numbers are not bad as you think.

Here are some plane crash survival tips:

• Book seats near the exit – The key to surviving a plane crash is being able to leave the plane as soon as possible. Get seats near the exit and if possible aisle seats as well.

• Listen to preflight safety speech – You heard it all before, but it is always good to listen for all the safety procedures being given. Do not assume that you have heard it all before. Each plane may have different safety routes and procedures than what you are familiar with.

• Make a plan – Planning prevents panic. After boarding the plane, check the fastest route and the closest exit. Count the number of seats going to the exit so that in case there is no visibility after the crash, you can use the seats as guide going to the exit.

• Keep seatbelts on – Fasten your seatbelt at all times. An accident may happen while you are sleeping so it will be a good idea to always be secure

• Brace for impact – Assume any of the 2 brace positions if you know that the plane is going to crash.

o If the seat in front of you is close enough. Place one hand palm down over the back of that seat. After that place the second hand, palm down as well, over the first hand. Do not lace your fingers. Rest your forehead on your hands and prepare for impact.

o If there are no seats close, bend forward and have your chest above your thighs and your head between your knees. Cross your knees in front of your lower leg and grab each ankle.

In either position, both feet should be flat on the floor and further back than your knees.

• Put your oxygen mask on – This is imperative as you would start losing breath once the cabin is compromised. After putting the mask on, you can help those near you. You can place the oxygen mask over somebody even if they are unconscious.

• Avoid smoke – Smoke is one of the leading causes of deaths in plane crashes. Cover your nose with something like a handkerchief. It will be better if the cloth is moist to give extra protection

• Get out – Once the plane is stationary, get out as soon as you can. If fire or smoke is present, you have about 2 minutes to head for the exit.

• Keep a distance of about 500 feet from the wreckage – It could be dangerous to stay close to the plane crash as it may explode. But do not go too far. Rescuers will be surveying the area near the wreck so keep a good distance where the rescuers will not miss you.

The chances of being involved in plane crash are slim but it does not hurt to be prepared and be knowledgeable of what to do in case it happens. Keep these plane crash survival tips whenever you are going to travel by air.

Galapagos Islands Tours

Galapagos Islands – unforgettable tours

The Galapagos Islands are a group of islands located in the eastern Pacific Ocean, and coming under the administrative jurisdiction of Ecuador. These islands consist of 13 major islands, 6 smaller islands and several islets and rocks. An interesting destination for those looking to get away from the maddening crowds usually encountered at popular holiday spots, Galapagos makes you feel you are in a different era altogether. Go for a holiday in Galapagos, you will never regret it!

History

The Galapagos Islands were accidentally discovered in 1535, when Tomás de Berlanga, the first bishop of Panama, drifted offcourse during his journey from Panama to Peru. For the next 3 centuries, these islands were primarily used as a base by buccaneers and sailors, primarily since there was an abundance of fresh flora and fauna. In 1835, the Galapagos Islands (islands of tortoises) received their first major (and the most important) visitor in Charles Darwin, who’d come aboard the Beagle as a part of his study for his Theory of Evolution. Darwin spent 5 weeks on the islands, out of which 19 days were spent on the 4 major islands collecting important evidences for his theory – published a few decades later. Ecuador took control of the islands in 1832. In 1934, some of the islands were declared as wildlife sanctuaries; in 1959, 97% of the islands were officially designated as national parks. Around 80,000 tourists visit these beautiful islands annually.

by: Sam Serio

The majority of people look to have the perfect vacation when they take time off work today. The perfect vacation should have several qualities. All are the same for everybody in terms of the travel success tip, but there is no one solution for everyone. You really have to examine what it is that you want from your vacation in order to achieve travel success. So without further ado, here are the tips that can make the perfect vacation for you:

• What are your main interests? – If you hate lying on a beach for hours on end and feel bored just thinking about it then a beach holiday would not make the perfect vacation for you! Travel success is all about enjoyment and having fun so you need to assess what sort of activities will make you happy and ensure that you forget about the world at home for a while. If you love culture then go for a city break to somewhere like Florence in Italy or Dublin in Ireland. If you do like a beach break then Cancun, Mexico or Montego Bay in Jamaica may fulfil your needs. Choose wisely and enjoy yourself for a while.

• Decide upon your budget – Travel success is all about relieving stress so the perfect vacation will not cause you financial difficulties and the stress that brings when you get back! If you formulate a budget that highlights what you can afford to spend and stick to it then you can do as you please within that boundary and still be comfortable when you get home.

• Decide who you want to take with you – Taking the whole family with you may be as stressful as if you were at work but simply taking your partner and your children would allow you to have the perfect vacation and achieve travel success. Travel success is spending time with your immediate family and/or partner because you may not see them from day to day back in the real world so create some sort of idyll for yourself!

• Prepare in advance – There is nothing worse than leaving the preparation and packing until the last minute because you are bound to forget something. Making preparations well in advance will set you well on the way to achieving travel success and the perfect vacation! Make a list and pack exactly what you need without the extras and then you can settle into your vacation without stress and hassle!

Travel success is not hard to achieve, but improper planning and poor judgement can make it the vacation from hell. If you only get a few weeks off a year to enjoy yourself then be sure to make the most of them with travel success!

Travel Like A Pro: How To Tour The World In Style

by: Sam Serio

Travelling in style is the way that most people see themselves travelling these days. It is infinitely possible, but the majority of the time, that plan goes completely wrong because we get caught up in packing, arranging documents and finances and forget to concentrate on what it is that makes travel so important – taking the time out to relax and chill out for a while. Travelling in style is the epitome of that for a number of reasons.

Travelling in style is all about taking care of yourself and making the time to do so. Very few people find that they can take their time when heading to the airport because, for the majority, it is a mad rush to pack grab everything they need and then get to the airport on time. It is possible though. There are several ways you can achieve this, and all require you to take certain steps:

Step one – Start planning the week before you are due to fly if you want to travel in style. Make a list of what you are to pack and lay out the outfit that you are to wear when you board the plane. It does not matter where you are travelling to, just as long as you remember to include all of the essentials in your carry on. A book, a music player of some sort, an eye mask, facial wipes and some candies to suck on when the plane takes off and lands so your ears do not pop! Make sure that your carry on is light but also contains a change of underwear just in case your luggage gets lost! This way, you don’t get caught short.

Step two – Plan ahead some more! This time, check out the essentials of the destination that you are heading to. If you want to travel in style then you cannot land in a mini-skirt and flip-flops if it is freezing cold and raining. Keep a watch on the weather forecast in the week before you fly because it will constantly update and give you a great idea on what to expect. Also, buy a map and travel guide so that you can easily find your way to your hotel when you get there. Travelling in style is all about being prepared and making sure that you can handle anything that your trip throws at you!

Step three – Wear layers when you board the plane if you want to travel in style. If it is hot then you can strip off the layers, but a cold plane is nobody’s friend and encourages bugs and colds to spread to the vulnerable. As a result, you want to be warm! If you wear layers then you also escape using the airline blankets! You can look good and feel good all in one go!

Step four – Finally enjoy it! Travelling in style should be fun! Air travel should not be a chore, but it will be if you view it that way! Travelling should be about adventure, so be determined to make it one!
